ABOUT MEL
Melanie, a Cuban American from Miami, is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in the fields of acting and dance.
Melanie grew up in a tight knit community engulfed in an array of Latin American cultures. From habitual Salsa dancing to echoing the lyrics of Celia Cruz at the top of their lungs, the community at large connected its people to the arts. This detail went beyond the connection of sharing a second language. This is why when Melanie enters the room, it is flavorful, vibrant, and energized. She is the sazón your pot roast pines for.
In addition to acting, she has honed in on sharpening her pole dancing since 2020. She has choreographed pieces and performed in shows such as “Shtick A Pole In It” , Awakenings Pole Dance Fitness Showcase and Snoop Dogg concert at the hard rock hotel &casino at etess arena.
Prior to her untimely passing, Melanie’s mother exposed her at a young age to the world of art, dance, and modeling. Her mother’s legacy is the very foundation of her expertise. However, when Melanie performs, it is not to merely honor her mother. It is an ethereal reincarnation of her very existence, love, and dna. Melanie’s performance is a resurrection of her greatest mentor on the stages she only dreamt of gracing after raising her daughters. With every motion, Melanie inhales her mother’s legacy and exhales the breath of love, grace, and devotion her mother deserved.
When Melanie is not acting, dancing or choreographing, she is curled up on the couch with her two cats and a cafecito Cubano. Her downtime consists of reconnecting with her culture and writing all the stories that she intends to immortalize for an audience someday.
